This Privacy Policy explains how Prune (operated by Digital Arc) handles information when you use the Prune desktop app and the website at prune.digitalarc.lk. Related rules for using Prune are in our Terms & Conditions.
1. The short version
- The Prune app scans and cleans on your device. File paths and scan results stay local. We do not upload your disk contents to our servers.
- We do not store customer payment card details or full payment profiles on our servers. Checkout is handled by Dodo Payments.
- If you join the macOS waitlist, we store your email only to tell you when the Mac version is live.
- This website uses analytics and advertising pixels (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel, and TikTok Pixel) to understand visits and improve Prune.
2. The Prune desktop app
Prune is a local utility for Windows and macOS. Scanning, review, and deletion happen on your computer. We do not receive file path metadata, file contents, or a map of your disk from the app as part of normal cleaning.
License activation may involve checking a license key with our servers so we can confirm a valid purchase. That check is limited to licensing — not your files.
3. Information we collect on the website
macOS waitlist email
If you submit your email for the macOS waitlist, we collect that address for one purpose: to notify you when the Mac version of Prune is live. We do not sell waitlist emails, and we do not use them for unrelated marketing lists.
Payments and purchases
When you buy Prune Pro, payment is processed by Dodo Payments. We do not store credit card numbers or other full payment instrument details on our servers. Dodo may process payment data under its own terms and privacy policy. We may receive limited order or license-related information needed to fulfill your purchase (for example, that a payment succeeded and a license should be issued).
Marketing attribution
Our website may store campaign parameters (such as UTM tags) and referrer information in your browser so we can attribute waitlist signups and purchases to marketing channels. This stays in local storage on your device unless you clear it.
4. Website analytics and advertising tools
We improve our products and advertising by using analytics and advertising tools to see how you use our website. By using our site, you agree that we and these providers can collect and use this data as described below. This Privacy Policy has more details. The Prune desktop app itself does not send analytics about your files.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to measure page views, traffic sources, and how people move through the site. Google may use cookies and similar technologies. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Microsoft Clarity
We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay to improve and market our products and services. Website usage data is captured using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to understand which pages and features matter, and to support site optimization, fraud/security purposes, and advertising. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, visit the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Meta Pixel
We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure website activity and advertising performance (for example, page views and conversion events such as waitlist signup or purchase). Meta may collect data via cookies and similar technologies according to Meta’s policies. See the Meta Privacy Policy.
TikTok Pixel
We use the TikTok Pixel to measure website activity and advertising performance on TikTok. TikTok may collect data via cookies and similar technologies according to TikTok’s policies. See the TikTok Privacy Policy.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Analytics and advertising tools above may set cookies or use local storage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may limit how well we can measure or improve the site; it does not change how the local Prune app works on your machine.
6. How we use information
- Operate and improve the Prune website and product
- Send macOS waitlist launch notices
- Fulfill purchases and issue licenses via our payment partner
- Measure marketing performance and site usability
- Protect against abuse and technical issues
7. Sharing
We share information with service providers who help us run Prune — notably Dodo Payments for checkout, and Google, Microsoft, Meta, and TikTok for analytics and ads as described above. We do not sell your personal information as a standalone product.
8. Retention
Waitlist emails are kept until we have notified you that the Mac version is live, or until you ask us to remove them, whichever comes first (we may keep minimal records needed for legal or abuse-prevention reasons). Analytics data is retained according to each provider’s settings and policies. License-related records may be kept as long as needed to support your purchase.
9. Your choices
- Do not submit a waitlist email if you do not want launch notices.
- Use browser controls to limit cookies and tracking.
- Review each provider’s privacy tools and opt-out options where available.
- Contact us (see below) to request deletion of a waitlist email we hold.
10. Children
Prune is aimed at adults and professional users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
